I got a Prostar going, finally....I'm really diggin' these Moebius offerings.....The parts are crisp and clean and without much flash, at all....The instruction sheet is much better than the Lonestar's.....I hope they redo those in subsequent releases....

Anyway, I wasn't happy with a few things on the Lonestar and a few things with this kit that will have to be addressed....One....The interior is just too nice not to be seen....I was kind of upset to do all that work on the interior, only to be unable to see any of it, so I'm cutting a hole in this one some where......Next is that the dadgum frame on this model is too short!!! Don't get me wrong....This is a beautiful kit, and I'm totally greatful that Moebius put it out, but it is about an inch too short...I haven't seen a single Prostar on the road or in Truck Paper with this short a frame.....Must have been a licensing agreement of some sort or something.......Gonna have to stretch it, Man.....And Last.....Only a minor thing, though....It needs some side skirts.....Now, I've been given the "Heads Up" on the cab mounts, But I think it might be an easy fix....We'll see....

At the moment, that's all I can find, but if I run into anything else, you guys are gonna know about it.....'Cause I'm gonna be all over this kit in the next week or so..... :)

I'm with you, Dave.....Until the Lonestar and Prostar kits came out, it was my favorite....I still have one of each of those Volvos left.....Gotta build one of each of those in orange, of course....

I would love to get my hands on a few more of the Volvo kits, but not at the stupid prices they are going for .

I should of stretched the frame on mine , how is the fit of the cab roof on your kit?

 That right there is the reason I quit building WWII aircraft. Hrs & hrs or P/E work to Never be seen.

This looks like a nice kit - I never got the "privilege" to work on one. Plenty of Volvo's but never any of the Star's.

Do you have plans on building as a OO showpiece or a fleet truck ?

JT, this will be very interesting build. I've also PE for this truck. And it's great. Catapult this truck to next level. BTW...What I know, that I heard from one my friend (he knows some people from italeri and he is also producer of Czech Truck Model PE Parts) Volvo VN 7xx will be reissued this year. Paul.

Since you want to be able to see the interior why dont you make the "airo " removable ? You could make some hidden pins to keep it in align and from slipping off. There is a pretty good view into the cab without it in the parts pic.

Well, that's awesome about the Volvo, Pavel.....I know I'll be grabbing a couple more....And, unfortunately, I can't afford those PE parts.....I've never worked with them, though....Who knows, maybe sometime in the future..... B)

Sean, thanks for the idea, but I think making just the front portion removable will be enough....I didn't want to cut that much off, because it would take just too much time....I toyed with the idea and this was, definitely, the simplest way.....I even thought about making a sun roof, as well, but I can't spend too much time on one model....Good idea, but, not this time..... :)

Jonathan, the roof fit is near perfection....It looks like it's really gonna be nice.....You just must have gotten a bad shot....I hope it's not a common thing, though.....I have 2 more of these on the shelf....One of the reasons I don't dare build a kit unless I have a duplicate near by.....I would have lost my mind if I had to wait for a part to come in the mail.....

Chris, you're reading my mind....I just went out and got some more orange and black paint....

JT, Moebius got me the new part in about a week, so props to them , I did have to pay for it, but its was like $3, no biggie to be honest , glad to hear yours doesn't have fit issues on the roof

I smell a Harley Davidson black and orange rig coming based on your recent trip and findings at Whataburger that you posted....LOL.

Have fun! :)

You know what, Tom? I just Had to have another orange rig...."Unfortunately", I have 2 trailers that need an orange tractor....So, I just Had to....I've got some Werner blue and some Navy blue and some Racing blue....Man, I got a lot of blue.... :D Pretty sure this is going to be the last can of orange paint I buy.....I have plans to build one of those Volvos I was talking about in orange, and I believe that's gonna be it.....

And they charged you for the part, Jon?? Really....Not too sure I'm in agreement with that, but OK....At least you got another one....To me $3 is $3....But it isn't that much....If they're charging for something like that, I wonder if they'd sell me some extra wheels and tires.... :D

Got the frame stretched....It only needed a little one....I plan on using the step boxes from the Lonestar kit....One on each side, though...It's gonna be a fleet truck, Sean, but it's gonna be MY fleet truck....I have a few scale million dollars to spend on my trucks.... :D Gotta keep the boys happy....

I figured out what he was talking about on the front cab mounts....Nothing major.....The slots for the alignment pins are pretty small in comparison....Something we've all been doing for years....Just snip the tabs off or wallow out the slots....Very easy fix, Adam.....

Looks awesome J.T. The shortness of the frame was noticable to me also. I plan one of these days to pick up the ProStar kit, and build it as the last truck I got to drive...

meandmytruck_zps964d6edc.jpg

Just need to figure out how to do the Werner decals. And extend the back wall to the upper roof.

I'll definitely be watching this come together!!!

Oh, Man...That is cool, Marshall...That would be a really cool project in itself......That's the other thing I need to do....You just reminded me, Man.....Thanks.....I have to make those blind spot mirrors.....Many of these trucks have those, and I want them for my truck.....

Got it painted and ready to go.....I'm really diggin' these kits....It's much easier to put together than the Lonestar....Partly because of the improved instruction sheet, but mostly because of the experience gained by building the afore mentioned kit....I've had no problems up to this point..... :D :D
