Weidy Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Hello forum! It has been almost 20 years since I built a model car, but decided I needed a hobby again. My mid-teenage years were when most of my models were built...and not very well I might add. Not much detail was put into the painting (or gluing for that matter). This time around I plan on doing it right! Lots of reading in my future. I hope to learn a lot from everyone and update my projects as they are going on. First step is learning!
PappyD340 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 WELCOME to the forum Brian and back to the hobby!!

gasser59 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Welcome back Weldy. This hobby has really changed in the last 20 years. Lots to catch up on.
Weidy Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks for the greetings! I see that's it changed. Kits got expensive for one! My first project is an AMT 1966 Buick Riviera Lowrider. I've had it for quite some time with the intensions of building it, but never did. It's not the kind of car I'd want to build normally, but it's here and it's free. Normally, older stock looking muscle cars and supercars are what I'd like to build. A good place to start though.
southpier Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 don't let yourself get overwhelmed with making everything perfect on the first one. most of all, enjoy it!
