99monguse Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Hi there... I have have giving some thought to getting back into the hobby and the thought crossed my mind of customization; many of you use resin parts, but is there a way to mold your own styrene parts, other then say a vacuum former, forming both halves and glueing together? Thanks Brian
DrKerry Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Not that I'd know of unless you had an injection mold press, or cut and formed them using styrene sheet. I use resin and plastic together with no ill effects at all. I also find it easier, in some cases, that the resin is easier to work with than plastic.....
Erik Smith Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Yes, but it will be very expensive. Resin is pretty easy to work with and readily available. There isn't a good reason not to use resin - or, in non-double negative speak...use resin.
