I was just wondering if this was just a bad piece in my kit. The separate side trim is warped and does not fit in the body channel. It appears to bend downward where the upper dogleg of the the trim starts. If you fit the rear first or the front first, the opposite end will droop an 1/8" inch. I will order a replacement if it is just my part. If it is a design flaw, then I will do some slicing and dicing to get it to fit (ruining the plating).

Thanks

I would go ahead and strip the plating, glue it to the body, fill in the gaps around it, prime, paint and foil as usual. It will look far better in the end.

I have thought about that, already have that planned for the 1958 Impala. The warpage is so bad that I may break it trying to straighten it.

I echo what Roger says........better to strip and place in the trim before painting, and then BMF it afterwards. I'm doing this with the '59 Impala, and to me it just looks better.......and more cohesive.
