Just picked one of these up with a Hobby Lobby coupon. It's the one that's shown in orange on the box. Opened it up and was surprised to find the dang thing is molded in bright orange. Are they all like this? Would have been much happier to have it molded in white.

Only that version is molded in orange(says so on the box side panel). The Shelby's molded in a truly awful lime, and the '72 GTO is also in a shade of orange.

I didn't even pay attention to the side of the box! Oh well, my primer will bury it.

Fellow 'plastic fanatic' Mr. Mike has successfully utilised some aerosol sealer called "KILZ" over red-coloured plastic. While I'm yet to try it for my-self , I can attest to how well it worked for the aforementioned member .

Just always nicer to start with a neutral color.

I've always preferred it when a kit comes moulded in at least two or three different colours ; black for chassis & suspension ; metallic silver under plated parts , and ; white for the body & interior .

I hear silver works really well to block bleed through. Read an article in SAE awhile back about it. I haven't tried it because my models lately have been molded in white. I have that same kit on my shelf I am going to try silver primer myself
