pharoah Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 This is my latest *bay purchase. It's the original 1963 version with working lights. This must have been a father and son project that nevr got finished. Some parts were put together nice and neat, while others-not so neat. The wheels were never glued on.The windshield had a big tire mark on it and was never glued on. It's missing a headlight lens, but other than that it's pretty complete. I didn't paint anything on it. I couldn't get some of it apart for fear of breaking it,so I left it alone..
rmvw guy Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Really nice and looks good as is John, just needs a shifter knob and fan belt as far as I can see. This one is on my bucket list. I started a Big T last year and purchased a Big Duece, both are the new version. These are my two favorites and only big scale I own. I had an original Big T when I was a kid and always wanted the Big Duece. You made a good purchase IMHO.
pharoah Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Thanks Ron. I forgot about the shifter knob. I had the fan belt on it. It came off after the engine was in,and it's almost impossible to put back on then. I was kind of surprised at how big this really is after it's built. I have the new one too. I'm restoring a Big Tub right now.
rmvw guy Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Yeah John, I know what you mean about the size, especially if you normally build 1:25 like me. I think I have room for two maybe. The Big Tub is pretty cool also, maybe it should go on my wish list. My photos always have surprizes for me. lol
Harry P. Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 So... what are you going to do with it? Just leave it as is? Or tear it down and rebuild it?
pharoah Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 I think I'm going to put it back on the bay. I don't think it can be torn down. I didn't want to try it. I have 5 other 1/8th kits, but don't have room for all of them. It's a nice enough car,but I have the new version with the flathead.I want to build it.

Just to resell it? Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just wondering...
pharoah Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Harry, It was a good deal. I've got it on display now and it looks pretty cool. I'm in no big hurry to get rid of it. A lot of it's just a matter of space. I've only got room for 4 1/8th models in my display case.
pharoah Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 Here's the whole family. I have an 82 Corvette in a storage space under this display.
crazyrichard Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 hmm cool .. one day i hope to get my hands on either a unbuild 32 kit or a already build one ... in that scale and really build it how i like ...the red one i would dare to tare it down hahaha
rmvw guy Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Thanks for showing the entire family. Looking Good!
f1ford48 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I want to build one of these bone stock! I got the wheels from the lindberg canary-not bad. and maybe a 5 window resin body?????

That would be cool. Yeah, the wheels would be the hard part. somebody makes the stock flathead parts in resin. You'll need a stock dash, seat and door panels too.
DonW Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'd do the shifter knob and find a way to get a fan belt in there and - to me most important - I'd very carefully bend those droopy headlights so they are upright! Otherwise it looks great, especially with the other three big models.
