Mrdarkmonkey96 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) I want to make a better version of the revell chevelle 3n1 I built my dad, as I wasnt impressed with the detail. Im curious as to what the "best" kit is, both quality, accuracy and detail wise. Also if anyone has built this kit and detailed with photo etch badging etc, if you could comment the parts numbers that would be great! Edited March 2, 2014 by Mrdarkmonkey96
Mrdarkmonkey96 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) What year? It was the 70 streetburner 3n1 Edited March 3, 2014 by Mrdarkmonkey96
Casey Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 The 1/24 Monogram/Revell '70 Chevelle/Malibu is probably the best kit, sad to say. For the ultimate '70 Chevelle SS, combine the body parts (and maybe the interior) from the 1/25 Revell SnapTite '70 Chevelle SS 454 with the chassis from the 1/25 Revell '72 Olds Cutlass kit, and the BBC engine from the AMT '70 Monte Carlo SS454. The Monte has a very nice set of stock exhaust manifolds, but you will nee to source the correct air cleaner elsewhere.

I would rather get the 3n1for the extra parts value etc. I was mainly just disappointed with the undercarriage and engine/engine bay details.
MsDano85gt Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 if its for any / all chevelles i'd have to say the lindberg 65? 66 chevelle (blue car box art) was probly the best chevelle wise, as far as 70' year model i'm not sure, the body of the revell/ monogram i always thought was quite nice, yet i'm not a big fan of 1/24 scale i prefer the 1/25
Belugawrx Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Something like this? Revell Streetburner 1:24 305s 350b or blown Dont forget to paint that front grille middle bar body colour!! Laff Body lines are great

Revell's recent SnapTite kit bodies are well done, and the 1/24 kit is the only 1/24 kit of the bunch, so it's all or nothing if you use that as the base model. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69573&hl=%2270+chevelle%22
