9t9hoelt
Finished the Escalade up but never took any decent pics. Just finished up the Tahoe. Wanted the Tahoe to be a weekend warrior type tow vehicle/daily driver. Finished with Duplicolor Light Pewter Metallic like my 1:1, and Model Master wet look clear. Used Model Masters smoke/window tint on back windows. Not a fan of the chrome head lights and wheels, but oh well. Did some detail painting on the chassis. Scratch built a hitch and receiver (the ball, pin, and cotter pin were made from a sewing needle), cut off the running boards, and put factory tow hooks through the front air dam. I hated the S10 style mirrors AMT supplied so i cut and trimmed some mirrors up from a SoReal diecast Blazer. Next is the "cencal" style Escalade EXT. Lift was scratch built using styrene square stock, coils from ink pens. Brackets are from misc. Parts from an old AMT dump truck cut and fit to size. Torsion bars are toothpicks. Scratch built rear control arms, track-bar, scratch built front upper control arm drop brackets, scratch built front shocks and shock hoops, rear shocks from SoReal Concepts Blazer, scratch built dual exhaust, drive shaft yokes were kit bashed from that AMT dump truck, rear axle is from Revell Silverado, and front diff (upper half) from a Tamiya Skyline (since AMT only molded the lower halves of the axles/differentials.) Revell Rubicon Classic Lock wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. Finished in Model Masters GM Aqua Pearl Metallic and Model Masters wet look clear. 9t9hoelt
Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. The tires are not the resin cast copies. I bought the wheels and tires off of ebay.
