Had my Revell '49 Merc primed, smoothed out and on the Tamiya paint stand...

my buddy warned me but did I listen? Big Fat Hairy NO!!!

Outside with my rattle-can, laying down a particularly slick black paint-job and...

(for those who don't know, the Tamiya paint stand spring base attaches to the

turntable base with a simple taper joint cap-over-tube joint.)

next thing I know, things come apart and my slick black paint now has horticulture in it...

dried up grass and weeds all over the roof and trunk!

Now what do I do?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Chuck

I see you're a fairly new member, so just a word of WARNING. Be sure to use a paint stripper that's compatible with the plastic your model is made of (EasyOff oven cleaner, brake fluid, Purple Power, etc.).

Just in case you don't already know, DON'T use actual stripper. It WILL destroy your model.

I don't mean to imply you're a doofus...I'd just hate to see a new guy make a nasty mistake. :)

Fully willing to admit the doofus part, just ask Wifey!
Kinda new to the forums but not new to screwing up paint...
Come to think of it, it was an AMT Merc the first time I tried Easyoff :D
BTW I was spraying Dupli-Color Acrylic Lacquer, so as I'm writing this the car has been scrub-sanded and reprimed!
Love modern chemistry!!!
(also there is apparently a point past which the Tamiya paint stand will CLICK and then it takes an effort to remove from the turntable base.)
Thanks again for all the help
