Hey guys

I'm searching out better photos specifically of the AMX/3 front suspension and forward under chassis/floorpan areas

I've already a lot of the exterior & interior, and the rear half of the chassis/drivetrain (above & below)

So far, online searching, hasn't revealed any really good pics, besides this cutaway

Please share if you have, or come across some

Thanks!

Having once owned a 1:1 '69 AMX, the front end in the drawing looks like the old trunion setup that AMC was still using through '69. This might be the case as a lot of one-offs in those days were using parts bin items to get them at least driveable and "showable".

The rear end is a different animal though.........looks like a dual coil setup with lower A-arms maybe? I'd like love to see pics as well..........this would be a GREAT car to model!

That was my initial thought also, but the AMX single LCA with trailing strut, where as the AMX/3 appears as a full triangulated LCA (extending the leading pivot point far forward, with noticable anti-dive, as in image below), and has a coil/shock through the upper control arm, where the AMX is perched above

True, the rear suspension is a unique Bizzarrini design, which apparently BMW helped in some development in the chassis & suspension tuning, giving it praise for being a well balanced and neutral handling car

I've very good photos of the rear half of the chassis under side & rear suspension, but the above cutaway, and below photo are the best I have of the front chassis/suspension so far

So I have constructed all that I can of the chassis now, except the front end, until I can get better reference images

Are you going to be offering the AMX/3 up as a resin piece when finished? If so I'm gonna have to get one as well as a vector,I better start saving.Lol.

Hey Austin

yes eventually, as with everything I build, but the Vector is indeed first, which I'm working through the casting stages now, just life and $$ get in the way LOL

Hey JC

I too like those wheels, over the initial AMX/3 show car version, they are indeed Campagnolo, which I'll 3D print up, with 205-15 and 225-15 Goodyears respectively
