IceMan Collections Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 After all the kits I've out together, this is my first 1940 Ford believe it or not. This is the older Trophy Series kit. Although it's not a complete kit with all the custom parts, there's enough there for me to complete....I think. If not, enter parts box! So far so good though. Here is some work I've done. Here it sits with primer and polished up. Here's the first mock up. I want the front to sit lower so I modified the front suspension. Engine details include, spark plugs, a PE bracket for the generator and wiring this...crab style distributor. First one of these I wire and I remember I had these ore drilled ones. Satin black for the body, red wheels, and a few chrome front end pieces. Back to mock up for now.
Speedfreak Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 That's gonna look great when you're done, love the red/satin black combo.
PappyD340 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 That's gonna look great when you're done, love the red/satin black combo. Me too, Me too!!
IceMan Collections Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Thank you gentlemen. Hope to get more done on it this weekend.
IceMan Collections Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Just about finished the engine. Just needs the air cleaner on top.
Duntov Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Very nice work on this classic kit --- it is one of my all time favorites --- your work proves that with a little attention to detail and some patience you can produce a very nice model!!! Well done indeed!!!
charlie8575 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I can't get into non-gloss paint but otherwise, it looks great. Very nice traditional custom. Charlie Larkin
IceMan Collections Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Thank you gentlemen. Last night I got the engine in place, the radiator hoses attached and the wiring is all finished. Interior pretty much done as well. Was too lazy to get the camera since it was late so these are from my phone. A few more finishing touches and this one is all done. Should be tonight so stay tuned!
IceMan Collections Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 All done. Check it out in the Under Glass section. Thanks for following along.
