Kit Basher Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Anyone have any suggestions for a kit of a '54 convertible? Preferably something kinda sporty like a T-Bird or a Vette, but anything would do. Ideally something readily available and inexpensive. If all else fails, how close is the Lindberg '53 Ford convertible to a '54? Thanks!
Ramfins59 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 You can try looking on EBAY. They show about 6 or 8 '54 Convertibles...... Chevy, Ford, Corvette, Buick.

Of course, there were no 1954 Thunderbirds (TBird started for 1955 model year), but a '54 Corvette is easy to do--very much identical to the '53, differing only id minor details, that probably wouldn't be seen on the model. As for a '54 Ford--Ford used exactly the same body shells 1952-54, only the trim and grilles changed, likely upholstery patterns as well. Art
Kit Basher Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks Rich, I must not search as good as you, all I found on Ebay was the Revell '53 Vette. Thanks Art, I looked at images of the '54 Ford, and I can see that the grille is very different from the '53. I'll have to check my stash, I have an older Vette, I just don't know what year. Thanks again to you both.
