KJ790 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 What have you guys found to be the best way to mount a model car or truck to the base of a display case? I have made little wheel chocks glued to the base in the past and then glued the wheels to them. What are some tricks you guys have?
Jantrix Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I never allow the wheels on a model to roll. Period. Having said that, I've never had a reason to attach the model to the base. It just sits there.
Foxer Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I glue wheels too but just use the wire ties that come with many display bases. I make sure the suspension is well glued before wrapping the wire tie around it. This lets me remove the model if so needed in the future. Wood and other types of bases could be easily made to use wire ties also.
Cato Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I use small balsa wedges as chocks painted nato black-can't see 'em.
