I'm working on a project that I need some clear parts for...it appears the best possible choice is vac-forming.

I have what I need to have vac-formed, BUT...I have no clue how to go about doing it OR having someone else do it for me.

I'm going to need multiple copies (into the dozens) and diffrent designs.

Any help? Even ideas? Thanks!!

Billy,

Email me at modelmartin@comcast.net and I can help you out.

Andy, I sent you an email about a week ago, but didn't see a responce....Did it reach you? I've been having some email trouble lately. :P:blink:

I am actually considering switching to a new host.

Why e-mailing, and not share the info at the board?

Yeah, I'm very interested too and would be willing to spend some $$$$ on vacuforming equipment. I understand once you make the "buck" for the piece you're 99% there.

Vac forming isn't terribly difficult; a local hobby shop is selling laser cut boxes that you attach a vacuum hose to and frames for the plastic. You have to cut plastic, clamp it, warm it, and then place it over a buck, then apply the vacuum. There are some good books and tutorials on it if you dig enough, you'll find some good stuff just by doing a google search.

Andy got back to me and I'm going to shoot some pictures for him...

Why not share it on the board....There's two reasons...1 is the almost complete lack of support of NASCAR on this board, which this project is (Especially 1/64, which this project also is!), and the second is that the project may be more then I can handle and I don't want to get anyone's hopes up prematurely or incorrectly.

When I do have something definitive to say...I'll post it. Depending on how something goes that I'm working on....that may be as early as the end of this week
