DriftingRookie Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Decided to remove the bel air from the run and put in the dirty Donny 70's Superbee so let's get on with the pictures. The kit: The parts inside: I did remove the body from the bags to see how bad the flashing is and it's pretty extensive.
Teddy J. Tannehill Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I like the pro street style....Just something about those big fat rear tires...I also like how you shared opening the box and checking out the parts...Its is so fun starting a new project...If you don't mind I might use this, next time I start a new project. Is this AMT kit one that has been in your stash for a while? I can't recall seeing the Box Art. Good luck with the excess plastic on the body....Some of the older kits had a lot. Last time I encountered this I tried something different. I washed the body with 409 and a toothbrush, rinsed then air dried. I sprayed the body with testors primer gray. let the primer gas out and cure for 3 days. Now any imperfections and flash will be easy to see and sand away. I really like the small flexible files from hobby lobby.
DriftingRookie Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 I just picked some of those up, going to push myself on this one and open her up, from there it's still in the air lol stay tuned updates coming soon
DriftingRookie Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Decided on not to cut it open. Took care of the flashing and she is sitting in primer will post pics soon

DriftingRookie Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Decals have been put on just waiting for them to dry so I can clear it. So far I'm liking this kit and need to add more of them to my stash
DriftingRookie Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Thank you, the car has gotten a clear coat and is currently curing going to give a stage wet sand and a wax job. Still debating on the interior colors either flat white or flat black. Probably going to use the smaller decals on the interior on the front two seats headrest
jrherald420 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Next time you do numbers use some tape to mark the starting point of the numbers and another as a strait edge for the bottom of the numbers.
DriftingRookie Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Thank you for the information I didn't know that, but I'm thinking about buying some figures for this to make it look like someone is actually driving it down the road
DriftingRookie Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Of course, and a friend said he would paint the figures for me since he does the war hammer figures
DriftingRookie Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Does anyone know where I can get a wired distributor I want to try and wire this
DriftingRookie Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Back on the bench going to add some purple into the interior to off set the white

DriftingRookie Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Got the front suspension put in. Waiting for the rear differential to dry to so I can install it, pics coming soon
DriftingRookie Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Does anyone who built this kit ever have a problem with the rear tires with the hole to put the rim in being to big? How do you fix it?
