Wagoneer81 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Another winner, Chuck! Seems that you and I appreciate the same things when it comes to old Fords... If I remember correctly, this truck might have been equipped with a 460 from the factory. That would have been the 350+hp, large-port-head version built before Ford neutered the 460 with small-port heads in 1977-78... Although... a 390 or 428 would fill the bill nicely, as well... Either way, you can't go wrong. Having owned several 360-390 equipped trucks, they definitely are an underrated motor.
2many Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I got the same thought when I first seen the picture . great job on the truck paint and clean job . I would put bigger rubber on it if mine . thanks for sharing . clay

I was seriously considering buying a '75 SCS with a 460 a few years back- that's one of the reasons I'm leaning toward going that route. The 360 and 390 engines are underrated, especially the 360, though.... ever notice how every 360 seems to magically become a 390 when the guy wants to sell the truck?
Chuck Most Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 in amt's eyes too 360/390 turn into a 460 That and nobody sent them the memo that the SCS was discontinued after '77. Ah, the stuff model kit manufacturers could get away with in the '70's!
mnwildpunk Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Wow and that means a lot being I don't normally care for the furds
