ryanm Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Hey is anyone on here from North Carolina. I moved to wilmington two months ago and started back into building models. Wondering if anyone knows of any clubs around or hobby shops besides the hobby lobby which has a very limited selection. Thanks Ryan
JollySipper Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I did a quick search and may have found a hobby shop you could check out. It's called Warehouse 9, located at 814 S. College Rd. I can't find much info on it though so I'm not sure what all they carry....
Custom Mike Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) Warehouse 9 is mainly RC, they were in the small shopping center next to Dick's Sporting Goods, if they're still open that is. Wilmington is pretty much a wasteland for shops, the best one around is in Fayetteville (Hayes Hobby House), and a shop in Jacksonville across from the mall. Hayes will do mail order, Check out their website (Search for it on Google), call 'em and tell Mike what you want and he'll send it your way! There is a Hobby Lobby in town, across Oleander Drive from the Mall, but that's not much help for detailing stuff. There is a club in town, but they're mainly Military stuff...nice guys though! Port City Modelers is their name I believe. Edited May 22, 2014 by Custom Mike
Jonathan Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 There is a GREAT modeling club in Fayetteville, but that's quite the haul from where you are. Check out Hayes Hobby House in Fayetteville. And, Lafayette Scale Modelers meet there once a month. I now live in Durham, so I don't go to the meetings, but I get to Hayes Hobby House every change I get. http://www.hayeshobby.com/ http://lafayettescalemodelers.wordpress.com/
