High octane Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I think that they're available from Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland as well.
mnwildpunk Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Look in tips and tricks joker has a tutorial on how to make a srunken head which u can adapt a skull
southpier Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 bead shop? 40% off coupon for Michael's or hobby lobby
zenrat Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 That looks good but a touch on the large size. It strikes me that the heads of 1/72 jet pilots (jet pilots as they have bigger helmets*) could be modified (by someone with better eyes than me) into a skull which would be closer to the correct size for a gear knob. *fnarrrr fnarrrr arf arf chortle chortle
Jon Haigwood Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Thanks for the info,I will check it out. What I want is something close to the one in the pic.
southpier Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Norm carved his own; tikis too. but I think the military modelers would have what you need (see above post). or just whittle one out of sprue if it's going to be a one-off part.
Jon Haigwood Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I plan on building Norms T. And this is about the best pic I have found of it. It looks to be fairly basic with out the bloody top like a lot of Norms skulls.
Toner283 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Go to google images and search "hot wheels rigor motor" and you may find what you are looking for. I would post an image but I am on my tablet and posting images from it is very difficult.
jbwelda Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 yeah toner has that right, I bought up a few of those years ago cheap, just for the skulls to use as shift knobs. or the Rep and Min ones are very nice and more finished looking jb
blazefox Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Dark world creations has a mini bag of um for like 17 $
tubbs Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I have (do not know what kit it came from) a 1/25 skull and shifter. cannot put a picture up yet and I do not want to give it up, but I will be more than happy to sent it to someone who can clean it up and cast it. it has a coat of white paint on it. I will see if I can dig it up and get a good picture of it tonight.
Jon Haigwood Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Out of the 400 or so Hot Wheels I have I don't have that one. But I know a guy that will. tubbs ,I have never did any casting but maybe someone else can
mnwildpunk Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Got to thinking I was at the dollar store awhile back and picked up a set of five skeletons on nooses that would probably work for what you are doing let me find em and send ya a pic
tubbs Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Jon, did you find your skull yet. i am still searching for mine. think i may have put it in a project box. i will keep looking.
Jon Haigwood Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 Not yet I am still looking for a Rigor Motor Hotwheel thanks
Toner283 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I have (do not know what kit it came from) a 1/25 skull and shifter. cannot put a picture up yet and I do not want to give it up, but I will be more than happy to sent it to someone who can clean it up and cast it. it has a coat of white paint on it. I will see if I can dig it up and get a good picture of it tonight. The Monogram street T Roadster has a skull shift knob. The T bucket with the little trailer included in the kit. The issue that I have has the gold plating but I think it was also issued with chrome as a goodguys kit. probably issued other times too. FWIW the skull in the T kit is just about the same size as the skulls on the rigor motor hot wheels.
Frank Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 A chap on eBay, prosplus sells resin shifters with skull knobs.
Jon Haigwood Posted June 16, 2014 Author Posted June 16, 2014 yeah toner has that right, I bought up a few of those years ago cheap, just for the skulls to use as shift knobs. or the Rep and Min ones are very nice and more finished looking jb Thanks for sending me a HW with skulls.
