Custom Hearse Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Decided to finish this over the weekend. There a couple small details to do, but it's done. I need to paint the license mount and add the Batmobile license plate to the back, and paint Batman and Robin, then add them to the interior. The car has the photo-etched set added to it, and I used the engine from Round2' Ford Starliner kit, and detailed with fuel lines, sparkplug wires, aluminum distributor, etc., Here's the pics: Edited June 11, 2014 by Custom Hearse
Custom Hearse Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 The kit came with instructions on how to make the rocket launch tubes out of aluminum tubing, so I made them:
TFchronos Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Coolest Batmobile ever made in my humble opinion. Fantastic job on yours!
TooOld Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Looks really good Marshall , I like the engine and extra detailing you've done !
Harry P. Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Holy oversight, Batman! You forgot to foil the trim along the edges of the canopies/windshields.
Speedfreak Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Batman doesn't need no stinking trim around the canopies!
Harry P. Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Batman doesn't need no stinking trim around the canopies! He didn't need the pinstripes, either... but he had them.
Guest Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Other than the missing foil, nice. Did you paint and decal it, or is it the prefinished one?
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Super nice build. Love the engine detail.. Thanks Carl. I was surprised that the Starliner engine fit so well in this kit.
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Coolest Batmobile ever made in my humble opinion. Fantastic job on yours! Thanks Jonathan.
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Looks really good Marshall , I like the engine and extra detailing you've done ! Thanks Bob! it was fun to do. I did lose interest for awhile, but then I got the urge to finish it.
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Holy oversight, Batman! You forgot to foil the trim along the edges of the canopies/windshields. I didn't forget Harry. The canopies are not glued in... the trim is one of the small details I need to finish. Batman doesn't need no stinking trim around the canopies! LMBO!!!
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 He didn't need the pinstripes, either... but he had them. The pinstripes were a dealer option, but the chrome trim was a factory design...
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 He likes pin stripes. Well said Gene... Thanks!
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 I like it! What kit is that? Thanks Mike! It's the Round2/Polar Lights Batmobile Deluxe Edition, with a few added extra photo etched pieces from different sources.
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Lol @ Harry. Good job on my favorite batmobile. Yeah... Harry's a card. And he needs to be dealt with!!! Thanks for the compliment Kevin!
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Other than the missing foil, nice. Did you paint and decal it, or is it the prefinished one? Thanks Lee!!! I painted it and added the decals. I didn't know there was a pre-finished kit out there. The photo etched parts that came with it give it the needed touch, and the Batman and Robin figures will be nice when I finish painting them.
Guest Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Polar Lights first release of the kit was a prefinished snapper.
Speedfreak Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Marshall, I love those Bat emblem wheels! Someone needs to use those on some other car, too cool! Post the pics when you get the figures painted, would love to see that! Gene
Custom Hearse Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Polar Lights first release of the kit was a prefinished snapper. Interesting... I really didn't know. Thanks Lee.
