twopaws Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Looking for a kit that contains a TH 400. Any suggestions?
1972coronet Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 If you're not opposed to resin parts , TH-400's can be had : http://www.ebay.com/sch/bnlresins2012/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= Top notch pieces ; minimal cleanup required . Highly recommended !
The70judgeman Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Revell's 1/25th scale '72 Cutlass Supreme and '72 Hurst Olds have them as an optional tranny. And, they are separate from the engine block in two halves and a pan. Edited July 4, 2014 by The70judgeman
blunc Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) I seem to recall some late 60's Olds kits have TH400 in them. rather frustrating that it seems none of the Pontiac kits bothered to put a TH400 on their blocks. oops, someone posted while I was typing. MAD also has resin TH400's http://www.madmodeling.com/store/ Edited July 4, 2014 by blunc
Chief Joseph Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The 1/24 Monogram Buick GSX has a really nice TH400, but the case isn't really accurate for a Buick-Olds-Pontiac version; it's closer to a Chevy case but not exactly accurate to that, either. Go figure... It's molded onto the engine block halves and the pan is separate. The MAD resin piece looks to be a recast of the GSX's TH400, so if you look at it on the website, you'll see how it appears.
