Craig Irwin Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 A local wholesaler closed his doors and heavily discounted all of the kits he had. I bought 10 AMT 69 GTX hardtops for the chassis, never built one as a GTX.
martinfan5 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I bought a LOT of Monogram NASCAR kits, all basically the same except for the bodies if that counts Oh yes, I know that one. I can add one more, I bought a case of the Lindberg Crown Vic police kits back when those were first released , actually, I bought 13, I bought one while I was waiting on my case to arrive
Mark Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I don't buy copies of model car kits, I just buy the actual kits. Twist ending... it probably ISN'T the Moebius Hudson Hornets everyone is thinking I buy in bulk (though they're right up there), it is likely the Revell '32 Ford five-window... so many cool parts in that one that even if you rob a bunch of stuff from a kit, you still have enough left to build a complete car. I probably had close to 30 of just that one kit on hand at one point. When it comes to "kit families" (groups of kits that share a substantial amount of tooling) the Revell Deuces would be right up there. Their '69 Camaros, new-tool Tri-Five Chevies, and the AMT '68-'70 Mopar kits, would fall into that group also.
