Good job with a not so great kit. It looks like you were shooting for the "Screaming Yellow Zonker" as a subject. If not, you sure nailed it! If you never heard of it, it was/is a one-off VWoA funded project car from the late 80's. VW of America bought one 4 wheel drive platform car from VW AG without motor and took it to Callaway (yes the same one from Corvette tuning fame) to have a turbocharged 16V engine installed. Was a cool idea, but it never ran right. The car is still around I believe, somewhere here in the Mid-Atlantic region (Pa, I think...). Very cool piece of history indeed! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Jonathon...I think it is the same car, the "Screaming Yellow Zonker" that you refered to, that I had a picture of that inspired this build...That was the monochromatic yellow look I was after, but with a stockish motor, and drivetrain, with upgraded wheels/tires/brakes...I hadn't recalled all the details of the SYZ, so thanks for that!
