Hi!

I would like to start (or try) to make a car model. I was wondering if you guys could help me with some of my questions?

- What kind of paint shall I use? and how many types do I need to get a good finish?

- Where do I buy these kits from? (live in Norway)

- And what kind of tools I need for the job. (glue, brushes etc)

I was looking at this, is this good? : http://www.modelcars.com/testors-model-car-spray-paint-set.html

And does the manual say what kind of colors go where?

Thanks for responses.

Welcome Anders. There is such variety out there. Brush paint or spray? All kinds of glue. I think there was an article dealing with getting started. I'll try to find it for you.

Welcome to the hobby. I would say start with some Tamiya models. They have great instructions. They go together great. And they have great selection of paint which the instructions show you where each color goes. I would start out with rattle can. Tamiya has great spray paints. Don't forget to prime. And one of the best ways to figure out paint is pics of real cars and your imagination. Just have fun with it do what you think is cool. You tube has Videos on painting.

Welcome and that paint set is great! Especially the sprayer item. With that, you can spray almost any properly thinned paint.

Warm the can(warm not HOT) and DON'T shake the can while spraying. Start with solid, not metallic colors, and maybe acrylics.
