blackandwhite Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I wish I had the space for a diorama. This is an awesome job. Words alone cannot describe the level of detail Well done Richard
crazyrichard Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 thnx guys !! .. been thinking what to make next for that area ... angle grinder , small version of a metal mill , like one that can sit on the bench ....a guy would send me some old tiny drill bits so i hope to make a box with dril bits in it ... a clamp / vice for the drill ...well enough to make .. and after that i need to think about an engine hoist and maybe stand ... a floorjack ... and inside the office i need to make stuff like chairs / table ? stuff like thatso much still that can be added .. oh posters and advertisement stuff
crazyrichard Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 started on the angle grinder today , pfft small .. look at the pin needle next to it lol now the cutting disk needs to be real thin my idea is to try double sided printing on thicker matte photo paper to make the cutting disk also need a switch , powercord ..
crazyrichard Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 some more work on the grinder true size lol added a switch cord that will be on after paint , and if you look close (also previous pic) you can see the sided handle is actually ribbed
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I am seeing a need to cast these....
DynoMight Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Maybe you could make a welding wagon.. you know, a table on wheels that has all you need to weld. Except portable.
Chris D Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Richard, This whole diorama is just superb! That angle grinder is amazing. Usually anything I am working on that small ends up on the floor and can never be found again. Can't wait to see the rest of the tiny little detailed things you add! Chris D.
crazyrichard Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 thnx guys !! and yes a welder will be made for sure ...
crazyrichard Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 gave the grinder a base color coat with blue ... then hand painted the safetycover / rear and tiny switch with metal coat enamel .. the handle got a coat of matt black to look like a rubber handle ...
crazyrichard Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 just added a info plate on the gindstone machine and even found one small enough for the grinder , no name or brand to be added it wil sit like this on the bench woth the citting disk visible so a name brand on the otehr side would not be visible from a more normal distance , the rod on the end is brass just for handeling the grinder that will come out and will get a powercord same like the other machines
bpletcher55 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 dam .that is some cool building , love it ,keep it going .
crazyrichard Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 thnx blair !!! finished the grinder put it here on the bench , this was a spot that is front and center and its nice and visible and also there is the entrance so best spot to put it like its just been layed down there waighting to get picked up for use again
crazyrichard Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 first try on safety glasses , man that was fidely !!!
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Oh sure, just keep on pushing that envelope!
crazyrichard Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) How did you do safety glasses? last time i was at the modelbuild store i looked for stuff to make the windows in the office ... i found a large sheet of clear stuff from bayern called vivak sheet .. now i didnt know when i bought it but it looks like lexan but this stuff wont splinter .. its so cool you can draw lines on it and just cut with a pair of scissors and nothing splinters .. its real flexible.. also cutting it with a knife works great .. now you can also bend it , it wont break it just bends without heating it up .. so i just cut out a flat shape of goggles and bend it , filed the legs a bit and done .. such cool stuff Edited November 8, 2014 by crazyrichard
bpletcher55 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 O sure ! now lets see you make some ear plugs , i.ll be watching .
crazyrichard Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) ear plugs must be doable .. thats a good idea thnx blair ! 2 small yellow plugs with a wire inbetween made a glass partician between the entrrance and workearea Edited November 8, 2014 by crazyrichard
crazyrichard Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 i started on those ear protection things but before i could find parts to make them suddenly the idea popped in my mind how to make the workgloves !! now i said i cant make them , to small , printing didnt work ... then i realised i have a box with yet to be build figures .. what if .. i can use 2 hands and ..... so i took these 2 sanded them flatter , drilled a hole in the back and kept drilling side to side and opened them so it looks like you can stick your hand inside (lol) ... then re-scribed the fingers a bit , heated them and messed them up slighty colorwise i only had like the light brown in real matte and gloves like that exist .. so i choose those ... paint is drying now , i will add a tad more detail so to be continued ... but i'm so happy i made them ... a nother cool detail !!!
crazyrichard Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 some daylight pictures gave the workgloves a place on the bench , now i need to make some earprotection total vieuw , here the weathering on the lift shows better , the oil catch kart also got a wash styrene drill shavings , sprayed silver , those will sit at the drill press
bpletcher55 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 this is a awesome, i would love to have the time to do this type of work ,
crazyrichard Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 whell you have the skills blair .. just finish your car projects and strat a dio and only build on the dio .. you have planty of cars .. and your photo dio is also awsome .. its a case of leaving builds alone and focus on the dio alone .. and man i tell you for me building a dio is more fun then doing a car ... glued the shavings in place next to the drill and a tiny shaving on the drill table version 4 of the ear protection , it was hard , this one is made out of 5 pieces .. the band will be sanded flatter i like the look of it hanging on the glass most ... what do you guys think bench or glass ??
bpletcher55 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 thanks RICHARD , I have to meany thing,s I want to do .
