Burnout Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Nice work Crazy. I like this one a lot. What kit is that from?
mangodart Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 NIce model, 1st J/L I see built , I have one in project, someday....
crazyjim Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 Thank you very much guys. I remember the days when GTOs and 442s had suspension work done so they rode a bit higher in the air. I believe it was for weight distribution - but it just looked cool. Yes, that's the Vietnam Service Ribbon on the front. One goes on every one of my builds. This was a Polar Lights kit with a baby (Matchbox size) GTO to go along with the kit.
Duntov Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Wow ---- I remember these beasts from high school and college --- room mate had one that was just a wicked fast car!!! Nice work on this one!!!
james460 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 That's as good a build of the PL kit as I've seen. And the paint is out of bounds. Nice work.
crazyjim Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Thank you James.I think I reported that this was a Polar Lights kit - WRONG! AMT/ERTL Johnny Lightning kit. Sorry.
kingstrider Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Nice Goat, I love the color scheme. Where did you get the engine hoist?
crazyjim Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Thank you John. The engine hoist is a scratch built item. I think I used directions from online somewhere. I can look for the drawing if you're interested.
drifterdon Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Fantastic Poncho Jim. I like the ride height. It gives it that Pro Stock look that everyone was running back in the 60's. Great job and I salute your service. Don
