Paul Payne Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I want to chop the top of my '32 3 window coupe. I know I saw a how-to awhile back, but can't find it. Because the "a " pillars have a slight slant, it looks like the roof would have to be cut apart and material added. Any help, suggestions, or pix would really be appreciated! :?

Basically, with a '32 Ford closed body, there are two ways to work this out: Either lengthen the roof itself, because of the slanted windshield, or increase the slant of the windshield (the A-posts) to lay it back at a greater angle so that it meets the lowered, unlengthened roof. walt francis Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 khart, I know about the aftermarket bodies, just wanted to try it myself, also not sure how much of a chop I want.....Paul just figure 1/8" for three inches in scale chopping
mark wheat Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Walt is right 1/8 is 3 scale inches in 1/24th scale. i always lean the post back it's easier & the wind shield rake looks tough .when you get the top back on go inside & glue small wire to the inside of the post it will make your top a lot stronger & is easy to cover with putty without building it up to much. good luck
