Here's a further update on the interior. The resin window cranks, door handles and armrests have been cleaned of flash, painted, and glued in place. The dashboard is painted, detailed with BMF and chrome silver paint, and the kit's gauge decal is in place with a coating of clear epoxy for the lens. I also painted and detailed the steering wheel and pedals which are not pictured. The carpet is flocked black but is also not pictured.

I started working on the engine and have pretty much all of the pieces painted which are drying now. The beat goes on... Thanks for looking in.

Rich...I was going to suggest "MV" lenses, but these look sooooo much better! The pattern sets them off perfectly! What would happen if you put a smaller, clear "MV" lense behind it....Do you think that it might enhance the look?

OK. Here's a picture of how the taillights look on this car. I love how the waffle texture on the backside of them shows through.

More updates to come as they happen. Thanks for looking in on this.

Customs usually are not my thing but the quality of your work so far has me watching this thread to see what you come up with. I like the late 50's cars and any time I see a '57 Ford thread, I check it out. Nice workmanship and I am eager to see updates. I do like the color, by the way and believe that this will turn out very well. We - read that as :the hobby in general", need more people to express interest in cars and trucks of this era to encourage the manufacturers to step out of the box and think past the stuff that they keep reissuing. Keep up the good work.. :)

Mark, thanks very much. I already have a small, round, flat, chrome piece glued to the flat base of the taillight bezel. I think that the light reflecting off the chrome piece shows the waffle pattern on the lenses very nicely. I had thought of using MV lenses but when I found these pieces in my taillight parts stash I just had to use them.

Gary, thank you for your kind and encouraging words. There seem to be a bunch of 50's and 60's car lovers here on the Forum besides myself. Steven Guthmiller, Al Maeske and John Goshke come to mind right away. Unfortunately most of the Mfgrs. keep "mining the gold" in repops or reissues because they don't have to lay out big bucks for new tooling, etc. Moebius is the one who's been "stepping out of the box" to give us kits of cars that have never been put out in kit form previously. Hats off to them..!! I will eventually be getting to working on all of their Hudson kits when my 50's cars TO DO pile shrinks down a bit.

Rich you are so good on the interiors. Looking forward to seeing the interior all together..

Thank you Carl. I have to work on getting the chassis parts all painted and assembled before I can mount the interior pieces onto the floor pan. I hope to have that done within a couple of days, Right now I'm almost finished with the engine assembly.

I am not rushing Rich. I have been working real slow on my builds since I have had some builders block. Is the door handles and window cranks aftermarket..?

No Carl, the cranks and handles and armrests came with the interior package from Ed Fluck.

Norm Veber, Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland makes some nice resin ones. They come many in a pack for around $5. I love to use these on models since they really add depth to interiors. One time when I saw him at a show I invested $20 in four packs. That'll last me a while!

Edited to add the below photo, for some reason the computer wouldn't let me do so yesterday....

I agree wholeheartedly Tom. At the NNL this past April I picked up 5 packs of them from Norm so I'm stocked up on them for awhile. I've been using them on most of the promos I've been building.

Sorry Dave. I won't be able to post any more progress pics until after the weekend. My prior plans for a productive modelling weekend were waylaid by my grandson asking me to visit him to "fix" some "broken cars" for him.

OK, I finally finished up the engine. The block is painted the same color Lavender as the interior and the valve covers are body color Tamiya Purple. I installed an M.A.D. prewired distributor with Purple wires. I used a chrome air cleaner from my parts box to add a little bling.

All of the chassis parts are painted and drying. Hopefully I can get them all assembled and in place tomorrow. Thanks for looking in.
