hotrodblder
`Where is a good place to look for resin motorcycle parts? I'm looking for something like a 300 series rear tire and wheel set so I can build a custom bike.
cobraman
How wide are the rear tires on the Revell chopper kits ?
hotrodblder
I wouldn't consider them to be that wide. Mine's buried in the closet right now, but if I would have to guess I might say 30mm? they're fairly narrow. That's why I'm looking for a wider aftermarket style wheel and tire set if they exist. I want to do a custom build with one of those bike kits. Edited October 9, 2014 by hotrodblder
DPNM
Shawn, Being you haven't specified a scale it's sort of an open ended question to me. I think Ray seems to figure you are talking 1/12th scale and your reply seems to concur. No matter the scale, for the most part, you may be able to find something you can use from a die-cast or die-cast and plastic motorcycle. Wal-mart, Ollies and most any major department store might be worth looking at. You might try the clearance aisle first.
cobraman
Ya know, I have been thinking and i seem to remember that there was a resin kit that had a wide frame rear section and a wider tire. I will have to check some back issues and see if I can locate it.

spotarama
check the die-casts of OCC or Jesse James bikes, some of those have ludicrously wide tyre/wheel combos and with a bit of scratchbuilding you could chop the spokes out of the wheel and just use the hub/rim/tyre with your own design spokesall this assumes they'd be an appropriate scale for what you wanti've used the OCC 'Fire Engine' bike to build my own custom, basically only the engine and part of the frame were left, modified or replaced the wheels, forks, bodywork, carbs, exhaust, bars, lights
hotrodblder
Yes, a 1/12th scale Revell bike are what I want to modify. I will look into ModelMartin to see what he has availible.
