I am going to reshape the wheel wells. The Revell car will NOT line up 1:25 to 1:24 problem. I think I might mark the curve with a curve drafting tool and cut it in by hand. I am going to leave the leading edge of the wheel well alone and just reshape the trailing edge.

The ancient Revell kit is 1/25. So would be the '57 Bel Air coupe, but if I had that kit, I'd just use that whole body. Come to think of it, I do.

Steve, I have no idea, all the parts form this build are out of my spare parts. I do know that the front suspension is C-3 Corvette, but the suspension and the crossmember are from two different kits. Both the front and rear end still need work to mount the wheels.

You must love '57 Chevy gassers. I spy another one in the window.

I have hated these kits from the time they were put on the store shelf for the first time. I guess now that I see someone taking the time to do one right, I can give them a bit more credit.

You're doing a great job! Keep it coming.

Thanks for the compliments. That 57 in the window is actually a survivor. It's a Monogram hard top kit. It was built in 1992 and is supposed to be the Tales from the Crypt car. That car was built from memory after I watched the show. Back then I thought the car was black, not gunmetal grey, and it has dual air cleaners because I didn't have the correct scoop. This was also one of my first attempts at bare metal foil. After 22years the only thing missing is the radiator.

Looking good Erik.

I have one of these kits that's my oldest surviving kit, built nearly 30 years ago ! Like yours, not quite correct but cool at the time. It lead to 30 years of 57 obsession B)

When I test fit the body it sat too high in the front. The trans was hitting the trans tunnel and lifting the body. So I got the Corvette chassis I took the suspension from and cut out the center of the trans cross member. Grafting that hoop in dropped the trans and gave the engine the angle it needed for the rake of the chassis.
