Hello fellow modelers,

My name is Tim and I recently decided to get back in the modeling hobby after being away from it for 15+ years. I wanted to do this model as a tribute to my Dad, who recently passed away in July with a year long battle with cancer, because as he was building real race cars, I was building models as a kid. He used to race/build with Terry LaBonte is Corpus Christi, TX, many years ago and my Mom bought me this one back in 1998, but I never got around to starting it.

I've been browsing through the pics in this forum and I have a lot to learn from the pro's. Here's my partially completed build in over 15 years. It reminds me of my Dad and I really enjoy modeling again. Take care!

Tim

Welcome Tim! You are off to a good start. Keep us posted on your progress. There is a member here, Old Coyote, who is #1, a great builder, #2, a race car nut and #3, a Terry Labonte fan. Look for his posts. He has tons of Terry Labonte models that he has completed.

Welcome back to the Hobby Tim. I recently got back into it myself, so I know the feeling of catching up with all the latest modeling stuff. Your doing a good job on your first project back.

Thanks everyone! I'm excited to start my collection again. Looking forward to browsing some amazing pieces of work on this site. So much has changed in the last 15 years. Acrylic paint is the newest thing I had no idea existed, until I stocked up on them. So far, I really like them... especially with cleaning out the airbrush and brushes. I haven't painted a two-tone car yet with acrylic, so wish me luck. I'm still reading all of the tips on how to be successful with it. Thanks!

Tim
