YoungLuis Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 after almost a year of not touching a single model I finally decided to finish these old plastic jewels that haunted me from the depths of my closet! and as I thought well maybe I'll just paint her satin white and leave her alone I dove into a deep hole of inspiration and thought "why not try something new", everytime I'd finish a model I'd paint it and make it look out of the factory, but not no more my friends, here is my take on a revell ford pick up and my first try at weathering a model!!!! please feel free to let me know your opinions! I'd love to learn from the Jedi Masters of weathering!
charliechaindrive Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Neat, looks very good! Maybe if you've got a dremel tool, you could look up on YouTube for how to add rust holes. They're tricky to get without an example to follow, but add to the weathering effect
wrecker388 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Cool! Looks like someone who didn't live in the rust belt's daily driver. Very convincing.
YoungLuis Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Thanks guys, I will mess around with rust in my next build, Im thinking a diorama of a bunch of punk greasers in some shady backwoods gas station
Lanny Haas Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 put some weeds around it and were done.......looking good
Lanny Haas Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 put some weeds around it and were done..looks good so far.
YoungLuis Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 I've been working on the chasis of the ol' truck! here is the progress, I'd say a little more glue and a little more weathering and she'll be ready for the shelf!
rsxse240 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Looks to me like the rims for the rear somehow ended up on the front and the front to the rear. Tires look to be in the right spots, though. This may be the reason the rim is poking out of the tire in the front. other than that, I'd say you've done a fine job for your first weathering attempt.
