Custom Hearse Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I just returned from a funeral for Deputy Chism, who was gunned down by a suspect while in foot pursuit. Deputy Chism was 25 years old and a member of Cedar County Sheriffs department for 3 years. He is survived by his wife of 31/2 years, and his 2 year old son. He is a hero in my book, and deserves to be remembered as such... Rest In Peace Matt...
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 That's terrible. Rest in peace; hope they got the b*****d who shot him.

unclescott58 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 It's never a good thing to hear about a young officer taken down in the line of duty. And your right, he is a hero. If for nothing else, for going out and serving and protecting the public. R.I.P. officer Chism. Scott
1972coronet Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 My condolences to the Chism family and friends .
Petetrucker07 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The suspect was killed in the shootout. I really hope a fellow deputy got the P.O.S. What a shame, so young. Really makes you think. No matter what profession we chose, we may not make it home. Stuff like this reminds us all to live everyday like it could be our last, you never know. Everyday is a new day. Rest in Peace deputy Chism!
slusher Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Feel so sad for his wife, son, and family. A true hero getting a criminal off the streets. May God bless his family..
