itsclayyoo Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Opnions needed.. What would be a good base model to buil this? The Toyota FT-1. Im thinking a supra since thats what this car is pretty much. Any thought? http://blogs.motortrend.com/1403_toyota_out_with_fj_in_with_ft_1_the_lohdown.html/toyota-ft-1-rear-three-quarter/
Fabrux Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Looks like you'd be better off starting with an FR-S model.
CJ1971 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Why bother? Why not just wait until 1 of the 3 Asian kit companies brings it out, if the 1:1 sees production?
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 350Z has a similar roofline...probably the hardest part to get right. Available in 1/24 from both Aoshima and Tamiya. Youll have to sculpt everything else.

ZTony8 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Maybe start with a Lexus LF-A and go from there.I see elements of Ferrari F12,Corvette,Nissan GT-R,and Toyota FR-S in it.
Erik Smith Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 FR-S and Z (pictured above) are the first that came to my mind... but it looks like all of them could be starting points...
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 The biggest problem I see with any of the suggested starting-point cars is that the FT-1 windshield wraps around much more than any of the others. If you look at the profile shots of all of them, you'll notice the base of the windshield glass is MUCH farther forward of the base of the A-pillars than any of the donors, as is the top of the glass. I think, from these shots, that the top curve of the Corvette roof is the closest, and could be made to work by dropping the rear of it a little, letting it rotate downward from the top of the windshield. But you'd STILL have to deal with relocating the A-pillars to get that wrap into the front glass...and curve the front of the top panel more (seen in plan view) to allow for that
itsclayyoo Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Hmmmmm...seems like a very great deal of work. Im also thinking the corvette now. Im really looking into building this car. I love the way it looks it def is inspired by the supra....and quite frankly who dont like supras?! Lol.
Erik Smith Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 LFA Either way, lots of work...would be a cool model though. If you are interested, I may have body from the Tamiya LFA shortly...
itsclayyoo Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Yea Erik PM me I would def be interested
