Len Geisler Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Well, thanks to Harry P, leading me to Photobucket, I can finally post pics here again. So until I get some new pics of my latest builds, here is one I finished some time ago, built only from parts box parts. This one was my first real attempt at any "serious weathering" practices....No where near some others, but I think a good start.... Used a sectioned 32 grill shell that I ruined as far as another build was concerned.... The headders, IIRC, came from 2 Revell Rat Rod pick up kits.... And the interior is covered in my version of some old diner bench seat vinyl...(Gotta be a Jersey thing) It was a fun, quick build that I used to try and learn some new "skills" if you will. As always, questions and comments welcome.... Once again thanks to Harry P for telling me about Photobucket
Modelmartin Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 That looks like a fun model to build. Very nice! My favorite models are ones that came out of my parts box. No kits were harmed in the making of this model!
dub Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Great job for spare parts! I always love the "practice" builds the most because they are just that: practice. Screwing up is no big deal. Especially if all the parts are spare! I have something like this planned for the frame leftover from my gluebomb rebuild I'm finishing up right now. Keep the pics coming, I like your style!
Rick Schmidt Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Hmmmm this makes me rethink the Bucket body I have I was thinking of doin a bucket but it seemed too short now I'll have to rethink that
lizardlust Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Neat piece!! Does the fact that your model is comprised of recycled stuff make it a more authentic rat rod?!?
