rollinoldskoo Posted February 6, 2008 Author Posted February 6, 2008 Rollin, What are the wheels made from? They look great!! revell's lowrider wheels without the centers and aluminum wire.....
Darrell Gwinn Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Sweet, now i totally feel like putting together a lowrider, I just have to find the right candidate for one.... hmm
rollinoldskoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 monte update..... got some primer on the body.... started workin the interior too.... i gotta redo the front seats... the mold lines stood out more than i thought they would... quick sanding and another coat and they be all good
Raul_Perez Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Rollin, Did you use the Testors fabric paint for the interior? The texture and the colors look GREAT!!
rollinoldskoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 here's the dash.... primered it and shot a base color.... masked it off... painted the lower half body color.... then i masked off the bottom and gauges and sprayed the top...
rollinoldskoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 then i masked off everything but the gauges and misted on a darker brown to give a wood look... just needs details now.....
rollinoldskoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 fixed those front seats..... interior comin together.....
rollinoldskoo Posted February 7, 2008 Author Posted February 7, 2008 here's an interior mockup.... painted the back of rear seat too painted the floorpans as well.... time for the detailing....
Raul_Perez Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 got these at Home Depot Thanks, Rollin!! I'll look for it at Home Depot!!
JAFFA Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 rollin, youre colorcombos and graphics are great every time!
Raul_Perez Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Now there's a guy that really likes using his razor saw!!! I really like it so far! It'll be interesting to see how you resolve the back end. The rear portion of the profile kind of reminds me of some of the older Rolls Royce and Benley cars from the 30's. Keep up the cuttin', pastin' and postin' Regards,
rollinoldskoo Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 after workin on the sedan last night i still felt like chopping stuff up.... so today...... AMT Fast and Furious 69 Camaro comes with that boot  got a whole lineup now.... well actually i need a 2-door sedan but i'll save that for later
rollinoldskoo Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 decided not to do the front suspension halfway on the 82 Malibu wagon and took it to another step.... scratchbuilt the front frame section and crossmember.... i'm gonna see how much cleanup it needs after i shoot some primer.....
JAFFA Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 omg! its like the great Texas chainsaw massacre! But in a good way... Just one question, why in the earth would you use those ugly AMT -70 Monte Springs on the Malibu Wagon suspension?
Spike Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 cuz he's a lowrider man and those are the lowrider springs
JAFFA Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 cuz he's a lowrider man and those are the lowrider springs But a lowrider wudn't feature springs that long (if im not wrong), cuz it has hydraulic cylinders with short bounce/hop increasing springs or ackumulators...
Spike Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 most lowriders have springs all the way around. fronts not as tall as the rear but the help in the hops and whatnot
rollinoldskoo Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 But a lowrider wudn't feature springs that long (if im not wrong), cuz it has hydraulic cylinders with short bounce/hop increasing springs or ackumulators... those cylinders are temporary until i get more of these... as far as springs go.... a street cruiser would have really short coils to lay low.... a hopper uses a taller stack to get more bounce and suspension travel... accumulators aren't used on hoppers.... they are just basically used as shock absorbers for a cruiser.... when a car is raised up, the hydraulics make the ride very stiff so the bladders in accumulators allow movement for the fluid in the system

rollinoldskoo Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 got in some work today.... after a primer and filling in a couple more holes, the second coat of primer on the frame looks good enough since the a-arms will cover a lot of it.... i use bent up coat hangers for my spray stands lets me get all over inside the body too
