Revell/Monogram 36 Ford engine question

I have a mostly complete Monogram 36 Ford kit, and I thought I was missing headers for it... But, upon inspecting the instructions, I found nothing that resembles exhaust headers is included in this kit. Can anyone shed some light on this?

The engine has the stock exhaust manifolds molded as part of the engine block. AMT's '36 Ford kit has its stock engine done in the same way.

Thanks for pointing that out, I totally missed it, but upon closer inspection I now notice this... They are molded onto the block, but they connect underneath the oil pan? How does that make sense?

Is it just me, then, or is this engine quite crappy?

Crossover pipe? On a custom? I don't know how that makes sense....

The actual, stock '36 Ford V8 used a crossover pipe that went down under the engine, from the left manifold to the right side one, with the right side manifold connecting to the exhaust pipe. Pretty standard for V8's for years.

As for the model kit engine--that's the way kits like the Monogram '36 Ford were laid out--intended for kids from perhaps age 10 or to out to about 15-16yrs old (the principal demographic of car modelers back in the 1960's).
