Custom Hearse Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I'm trying to find the factory color for the 1968 Dodge Charger called Medium Green Metallic. I've checked Testors, Dupli-Color, and Rustolium. I heard a long while back of a company that makes paint colors for models, but I can't remember the name. Any help would greatly appreciated. This is a photo of the color: Thanks!!!
Madd Trucker Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 try here they may have what you are looking for http://www.scalefinishes.com/welcome.html
StevenGuthmiller Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) I believe this may be the color you're looking for. Or at least very close. This is MCW (Model Car World) #6858 1969 Dodge "Avocado Green" His website says this was basically the same color from '68-'70. Looks very close to me. I'm using this on a future '69 Coronet build. Lucas van H Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Isn't this kinda close to the Millenium Jade color that Nissan had? I mean, maybe a few drops of green and I think you're pretty close. http://www.stanleyku.com/thekucars/2011/07/14/millenium-jade-r34/comment-page-1/ Could be I'm wrong, but with a bit of mixing I think you can pull it off. Lucas.
DR JAY Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 A Local paint shop supplier mixes aerosol cans for me and I decant some to airbrush into the cracks and crevices before I use the can to spray the rest. A 369 gram (Full size can) costs a bit over 20 bucks and comes with extra nozzles with patterns of different sizes and shapes. I opt for the base/clear system as I like things really shiny. Keep in mind that if using a metallic colour, the 1:1 metallic flake will be larger than scale model metallic paint...
Ben Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 That looks exactly like Ford Ivy Bronze. ScaleFinishes carries it.
