chunkypeanutbutter Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 What issues all you referring to? Scott The Crash-Reboot thing.
unclescott58 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 The Crash-Reboot thing. That's not issue in the big scheme of things. A minor inconvenience at best. Scott

FASTBACK340 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 Glad to see all is normal! Yes, between work, the Holidays, and family I've been elsewhere. I have a Holiday gift I have to finish do my WIP threads will start later today. And don't get me started on Its a Wonderful Life. I find Mr. Potter's reference to the Italian-Americans as " Garlic Eaters" rather racist. Imagine substituting different food and race today?

Tom Geiger Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 And don't get me started on Its a Wonderful Life. I find Mr. Potter's reference to the Italian-Americans as " Garlic Eaters" rather racist. Imagine substituting different food and race today? I love that movie! I can almost recite along with most of it. A few years ago The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA showed it on the big screen right before Christmas. I got tickets for the family thinking it would be a treat! The Colonial is an old time theater, all restored for such events. I thought it would be really cool to see the movie like people did back in 1945. My younger daughter and I thought it was just grand and enjoyed ourselves. My wife and older daughter didn't get why we wanted to see this old black and white movie! And it's fun to watch the things that were common talk back in the day that would be totally off bounds today. There is a 1932 era movie that I believe was called "Employee Entrance" about the employees in a department store. The store scenes with old top compressor refrigerators etc were priceless. The banter was also funny... head of personnel interviewing a woman, "You're a good lookin' dame... of course we'll hire you! You can work here until you find a husband to support you!"

chunkypeanutbutter Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Who WOULDN'T want to see an old black-and-white movie? I went to the theatre in Ellsworth a couple years ago and saw Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush... Still funny today. Really funny.
