I am not sure if it is even worth saying...but I have downloaded many photos so far,in a few days. Today, however, when I try to post anything, it tells me the file is too large...so i set the camera at the lowest quality, smallest resolution...and yet still, i cannot load anything else...using the SAME camera as yesterday, same settings, yet it will not work. I am not used to giving up, but apparently this site decided it does not like me any more???? Dang, I only had about 800 more models to post....oh well, they are all on Facebook under Stephen Barone so if you want to see more of my work, apparently you have to leave this site and go to Facebook. It works most of the time and likes my file size..

Create a photobucket account. It's free and I've had ZERO trouble attaching pictures here. And when using photobucket (or similar) the pictures are larger when you post them..... vs. attaching them in your thread creation or thread replies.

Maybe your photo quota is full.

This appears to be the case. Each member is allowed a limited amount of free storage space to host and upload/attach images here on the forum...

Create a photobucket account.

...and this is the best solution. You can edit your images to your heart's content on pb and will likely never run out of storage space nor bandwidth.

I use another photo site, www.fotki.com. They have both free and paid accounts. I've had a paid account for over 10 years. I find this a lot easier to use than Photo Bucket. And there are others..

This site only allows a very small amount of space to upload images directly from your computer, because this site is NOT meant to be a photo hosting site. Can you imagine the amount of storage space we would need if this site hosted all of the photos we constantly post here?

The right way to do it it to open a photo hosting account, like Photobucket. Photo hosting sites are designed to do just that... host (or store) your images on their servers. Load all your images into albums on your photo hosting site, then you post the link to your photos here in your posts, not the actual photo itself. The photo stays parked on your photo hosting site's server, taking up their space, yet we can still see the image here in your posts because you posted the link to the image here–but not the image itself.

I have used Photobucket for many years, have hundreds (maybe thousands) of photos posted there, and still am at only 18% of my FREE account capacity.

Thank you kindly for the info...I did what you said and now I think I figured it out. I am new here, and obviously way too exuberant...I should know that no file on earth can contain everyone's posts...I didn't realize how huge this thing is, and will maintain my voracity henceforth! Thanks again, bro's...ignorance on my part is NOT bliss; the rules need to be followed. Roger that.

Stephen, no problem with your enthusiasm! If it wasn't for new blood coming in and posting new stuff, this place would get pretty boring. :)

Just get onto a photo site like mentioned above and learn to post photos here from photos stored on that site. I'd get on one of the more robust services where you can set up photo albums and such. It will come in handy for storing and sharing photos from things other than models. I have family folders and a lot of car reference folders on my Fotki account. Here's my site, you can take a look at how I have it organized: http://public.fotki.com/ModelCitizen/ I keep an album for every model project and all my finished models. I've been at it better than 10 years, and I have over 26,500 photos at this point. When I'm posting on the board I can usually pull up a photo or two to illustrate what ever I'm talking about at that moment. Pretty handy to have it all on-line. In fact, the other day at work we were sitting in a conference room at the end of the day and my laptop was hooked to the projector, so I showed photos of my latest project to the guys.
