I'm building a rat rod 41 Chevy, and in my search for paint for it I noticed that Tamiya has some really cool colors in there AS line (Airplanes), what kind of finish does this paint leave. I not looking for a true flat. but more of a satin finish

Tamiya's AS line of paint is exactly the same as the TS line of paint. Some are gloss, some flat, and some semi-gloss. It depends on which color you use. I've used their bare aluminum paint on some of my cars and I've been able to put a gloss coat over the top and have had no problem. And if I need to make them flat or semi-gloss, I use Testors flat or semi-gloss lacquer and airbrush it on.

They are close to but not entirely flat. Tamiya does now make a semi-gloss(TS-79) and flat clear(TS-80) so you can just about whatever sheen you need.
