58 Impala Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Maybe this should be in Rants and Raves. But I can't help it! HOW ABOUT THOSE NY GIANTS! That was one heck of a game. Edited February 4, 2008 by 58 Impala
bobss396 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I am a proud NYer! I had expected it would be a relatively low scoring game. Also not for the faint of heart no matter who you were rooting for. I had a small party at my house (too much to eat.. ooofffff) and my bro inlaw (the ultimate NY Giants fan) was with us. I was happy for him! Bob
cruz Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I am not a big football fan but I am a yankee fan and anything that comes from Boston or MA I don't like! Congratulations go to the Giants and New York fans on this big win, great game too!!!!!
82notch Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I was one of the many who thought NE was going to win big. Hats off to the Giants. That defense played amazing and Eli made no mistakes..It was one of the best Super bowls in a long long time IMO....

Harry P. Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I love it when the underdog wins! And I can't stand that SOB Belicheck. He didn't even shake Coughlin's hand after the game...he walked off with 1 second left on the clock and just walked away from his team. What a no-class guy...

Nick F40 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Ya, it was good. Either though it stayed 7-3 for like 3 quarters but those Giants pulled it off at last minute. Brady was crying alot and they couldn't even catch the ball or stay up all night. How about Tom Petty?
Steven Zimmerman Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I don't like Belechek either, but they did shake hands when he went on the field the 'first' time, before they got herded off the field for the last play.....Doesn't make me like him,but had to set the record straight............Giants and Manning played one hell of a game,I think the Patriots took them too lightly......Steve 'Steeler fan'Zimmerman..............
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 I must've missed that, but it doesn't change my opinion of the guy. As far as Tom Petty...one of my all time faves, but DUDE! Seriously, man, it's the SUPER BOWL! A little more energy, pleeez!!! He sounded like he was on cruise control the whole time. I've seen bassett hounds with more fire...
roncomatic Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 We watched the whole thing... well, the game anyway. Life's too short to watch the whole pregame show. Anyway, we really enjoyed this game. Most Super Bowls are snoozers but this one was pretty exciting. Congratulations to the Giants. They played a really good game and deserved to win. Personally, I think they gave the Caddy to the wrong person though... not that Manning didn't have a great game. However, the real heroes were the Giants Defense. They found a way to stop Brady... namely, they got in his cornflakes early and often. They should have handed out keys to every member of that defense. Being in South Florida we were pretty happy that the Patriots didn't go 19 and oh. Hey, what can I say?! We were hoping that Stevie Nicks would come out for the finale of the half time show and do Stop Dragin' My Heart Around with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Now that would have been special! --ron

Now that would have been special! --ron Yeah, that WOULD have been nice. TP was just recently on Soundstage on PBS, and Stevie did 4-5 songs with them. Sounded (and looked) great! Maybe she should rethink the Fleetwod Mac thing...after all, she's already a heartbreaker!!!

Hi Harry:: See your from the Chicago area. " You say you love it when the underdog wins" Well what are you going to do if the Cubs finally win this year????? LOL I grew up in the Waukegan area and have been a Cub/Sox fan for seems like a hundred years. The Sox finally did it now its the Cubs turn. Jeff
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi Harry:: See your from the Chicago area. " You say you love it when the underdog wins" Well what are you going to do if the Cubs finally win this year????? LOL Jeff When the Cubs win???? I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. After all, last year they got swept out of the playoffs in the first round by the "mighty" D-Backs... And besides...I'm a Sox fan. I'm looking for them to bounce back this season. (I hope...)
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Stevie definitely looks incredible for a woman pushing 60, especially with the way she abused her body over the years! She's a classy lady, IMO. Having said that ... I still believe Lindsey Buckingham was/is the real musical genius in Fleetwood Mac... No argument from me there. Buckingham is incredibly talented. I'd like to see him and Mike Campbell go head-to-head in a guitar hero steel cage death match!
ABC Auto Industry Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Giants stink! Oh well, at least the commercials were cool. And I enjoyed seeing Tom Petty at the halftime show.
RichCostello Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 I was really mad at the Giants for beating my Packers, but they made up for it by beating that arrogent a**hole Belechek and pretty boy Brady.Congrats to the Giants and all their fans.Just watch out next year because THE PACK WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!
