JTalmage Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I have a chance to get an older Chevy Monza body/chassis/interior tub, and it looks like an older one before the rear wheel wells were widened... I'm going to turn it into the Roadkill leafblower Monza of course! But it's missing a LOT interior parts, hood, other small details... I'll build the rest as needed but was curious of anything existed for a Monza that was pretty much NOT a drag car.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 They did have a stock version. AMT and MPC made several versions. I also have one, the AMT with the weird bucktooth looking front, that I intend to do the same with. Resin leafblowers?
JTalmage Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 Thats something I havent looked into... I just have a feeling those arent produced... I'll have to improvise.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Just found out Hobby Gear makes a set of landscaping gubs, and therein is contained a leaf blower. Not a Husqvarna, but with paint,it could look like it. Maybe buy one set and cast a few. Edited February 6, 2015 by chunkypeanutbutter
W-409 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I have this kit. Don't let that boxart scare you - it has parts to be built Stock as well. That kit is not the best quality, I mean that it's a bit simple, but I bet it can be built pretty nicely.
sfhess Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 It can be built rather nicely. I have one I built back in 1975 or 76 and it still looks good. BTW the "Buck tooth" front end, and matching rear end, are quite similar to the styling of the Corvette 2-rotor concept car from 1973 or 74.

They are really cheap at shows ($5-10) and reasonable from that auction site too if there are no shows close to you... There were AMT versions (as shown above) but MPC did the annual kits AND promos. Best to figure out which you have first before seeking parts/cars. Edited February 6, 2015 by jeffs396
