FordRodnKustom Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 What model company did the Pink Panther? I always thought that car looked pretty cool. Eldon
Dave Van Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Monkeemobile was done by Dean Jeffries. There would be an interesting thread ,,, "What cars have George Barris taken credit for that he' had nothing to do with?" In 2011 I was in So Cal on my regular visit. Peterson Museum had a display of 'famous movie cars' which I HAD to see. My buddy and I went. It was a great display. I got to see and touch the REAL Elanor. All the main American Graffiti cars were there. As I looked at them....something was wrong. These were 'tribute' cars.......I call them fake. And the Great Peterson was showing them as original cars developed for American Graffiti film by George Barris!!!!! George had NOTHING to do with the original cars in AG......but here it was being told as truth.......So it's often a muddy truth out there......
Dave Van Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Eldon Doyosu cut and owned the molds. Eldon imported them first. Later Doyosu issed them again. Pink is somewhat simplified to me.....but love the car!!!

Hey Dave, I'm working on this one right now, I've extended the nose changing the tires, lighting the interior & the TV will have a backlit pic of the Pink Panther Cartoon ( a cutout Viewmaster slide )
jbwelda Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 >You're right, good idea for a thread. He wasn't the only one <followed by a photo of Roth in Tweedy Pie> well that's totally out of context because not only did Roth always tell everyone he bought the car more or less like it was, he also added his own personal touches, which imo really make the car, to it after he got it. so its not like George Barris. At all. though he could be accused of employing geniuses and then putting his name on what they came up with...kind of like how all companies of substance do it. though in eds case I remember back then knowing who dirty doug and ed "newt" newton were so it wasn't like he was hiding it...like Barris. jb
