Old Buckaroo Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Well that is embarrassing , sorry Sergey for loading the wrong picture. I have a file of these trucks for reference and I grabbed the wrong one . Your build is still my favorite as it progressed as there was so many great tips to learn by .
Superpeterbilt Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Ray, that Autocar is a work of art. It easy to see how much work and TLC went into that.
guitarsam326 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Ray, that Autocar is a work of art. It easy to see how much work and TLC went into that. I'll second that and I'll add that his Paystar 5000 and Diamond REO are also amazing builds!
Superpeterbilt Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 I'll second that and I'll add that his Paystar 5000 and Diamond REO are also amazing builds!I dont believe Ive seen those. Ill have to check that out.
Russell C Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Nearly all of my own trucks aren't yet my favorites because they need fixing of some description. But I think my '34 Ford salt spreader needs no fixing, so I'll call it my favorite for the time being. Favorites among other folks' models changes from time to time, but I'd say I still have a particular weakness for Tim Ahlborn's reproduction of "Will Chandler's temporary truck" from the Movin' On TV series.
Truck parts Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Thank you Sean for the information on the head lights.
Chuck Most Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 My favorite of my own models is pretty easy... For all the horror tales I've heard about this kit, and the fact that I'm not fond of the 122" BBC version of the Road Boss, I think it looks better to me every time I see it sitting on the shelf. As far as my favorite from another modeler? I can't find a pic, but I believe I'd have to go with the red Diamond REO Apollo built by Anthony Oteri a couple of years ago.
Petetrucker07 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 ^Doesn't help he deletes his pics after they've been up for a little while. I remember that truck though, it did look good.

tbill Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 yes, Anthony builds some awesome looking stuff. tough to choose a favorite build from others, as I said before, just so much good looking stuff coming from you guys.
Chuck Most Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 This one? From several pics down at Sourkraut's gallery page... That's the one. I thought it was on the Sourkraut gallery, but of course I never thought to look there. But anyway- check out those photos and tell me that isn't the perfect Diamond REO.
Superpeterbilt Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 That's the one. I thought it was on the Sourkraut gallery, but of course I never thought to look there. But anyway- check out those photos and tell me that isn't the perfect Diamond REO. It is definitly a perfect build. The pinstriping and baby moons on the spokes are what makes it for me.
Superpeterbilt Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 My favorite from another build is Terry's Brockway. The detailing that was incorporated into this is awesome! The most striking part of it is the winch. The control levers and hardware with the chain drive nailed it for me Thank you Dennis, thats a high compliment.

I would rather give credit to someone who doesn't delete their complete thread after a week. Rule of the internet - without pics it didn't happen ! Edited March 14, 2015 by Old Buckaroo
Modelmikey Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 This is my favorite so far I've mine. I don't even know where to start for other people's favorites, 1000's of great models out in internet land!
Truck parts Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Michael, That's a sweet looking Autocar, Is it painted black ?
Mike77 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'd probably have to say my 1/16 4-axle Peterbilt wrecker is still my favorite...
Modelmikey Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Michael, That's a sweet looking Autocar, Is it painted black ? Thanks! Its a Dark blue, Tamiya French navy blue. Here is a close up, shows the color better.
Superpeterbilt Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 I'd probably have to say my 1/16 4-axle Peterbilt wrecker is still my favorite... That is one to be proud of Mike. That thing is a monument.
Mackvision Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Some fantastic builds for sure,i have to say this is my favorite, knowing the "real" truck, this is one accurate model AND it's a Mack!........................................Mark

But anyway- check out those photos and tell me that isn't the perfect Diamond REO.Thanks for the compliment Chuck. I always felt that this was AMT's best truck kit, aside from the mirrors. I only wish they gave it longer fuel tanks, maybe to extend beyond the rear cab mount. Edited May 3, 2015 by Modeltruckbuilder
Guest Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) I don't have a personal favorite, I do however tend to favor my most recent builds. Edited May 2, 2015 by Modeltruckbuilder
kilrathy10 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) This is a tough thing to pick one model out of my entire collection.....I can't really say.....I'm thinking I like my wreckers the most.....They keep jumping out at me, I guess..... My 1/25 scale Lonestar wrecker And my 1/16 scale Pete As far as someone else's builds....Hmmm....I'll have to get back to you on that one....Soooo many..... Edited March 21, 2015 by kilrathy10
Petetrucker07 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 That 1/16 wrecker is really cool. I like that. Well, I like em both.
