B-Train
Is it ok to use a fine polishing compound on pearl paints? Thanks for any suggestions
B-Train
The paint I'm using is Tamiya TS white pearl if that matters.I don't have any orange peel but the gloss seems a little dull.I will be clear coating should I just wait to polish then? Danno
Best to clear coat and polish out the clear. You can do serious damage to pearls (and metallics) by polishing the actual color coat.

What Danno said, always (if you want to wetsand and polish) clear coat pearls and metallics. Tim
cobramike
I just finished painting my 66 Fairlane with Testors one coat Lacquer #1833 with 4 coats, then I clear coated that with 2 coats of Testors Lacquer 1834m I did lightly sand between coats with 12000 cloth. B-Train
Thanks guys.I wasn't sure if the fine polish would cut the paint enough to harm it like wet sanding would.I appreciate the tips. Thanks again.
