FLAWLESSVW
That is absolutely awesome. I'm starting on my Transtar engine; currently on Steps 1 & 2 in fact I'm very new to model building and have a couple questions for ya: 1. What color/brand paint did you use? I'm debating between something like you have here, and something a little less "bright" like pictured here, but not sure yet: http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/whi/fullRecord.asp?id=58398 2. How much of the engine did you assemble before painting? Being newer, I'm still working on finding the balance between assembling certain things and then painting versus shooting parts unassembled (taped to cardboard) then gluing. Wondering if you pretty much glued everything shown in blue then shot it? ...Don't worry - your efforts here are WAY beyond me at this stage. I may try to do a little wiring (would LOVE to set the turbo up as show, but I don't think I have the skills yet! Thanks for the pics, they're helping as I go along. And as always guys, tips and advice are ALWAYS welcome. This place is a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate it. Anthony
mistermodel
Anthony,I used testors acapulco blue lacquer, its a ford colour.I assembled the engine before paint.A semi-gloss clear may suit you better than the gloss I used http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm06_mar_1991_inter/
