Flat is where it's at...

Being a "flatlander" I was very careful when I was driving on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Me too! There are some pretty scary stretches along that road where you can't even see the side of the road while you're driving... just ocean!

Ok, I knew that "survey" sounded off, so I looked it up.

The flattest states (least distance between lowest and highest point)...

1. Florida (sea level-345 feet): 345 feet

2. Delaware (sea level-448): 448 feet

3. Louisiana (-8 below sea level-535): 543 feet

4. Mississippi (sea level-806): 806 feet

5. Rhode Island (sea level-812): 812 feet

6. Indiana (320 feet above sea level-1257): 937 feet

7. Illinois (279 feet above sea level-1235): 956 feet

I guess those guys didn't know what they were talking about!

We're number 7! We're number 7!

According to a recent geographical study, Florida is the flattest state in the country, and Illinois is second flattest.

Woo Hoo! We're Number Two!

Harry, how can this be true? I was in Blue Island recently, and there was a sign that read: "Blue Island, The City on a Hill".

:D

So not only is Chicago the second city, but Illinois is the second state, too!!!
