Here's my latest project, Lindburg 61 Impala. Painted with Model Master lacquer, Bare metal foiled. I was going to do the red and white interior, changed my mind and went with fawn beige, I think it will look OK, I'm not sure any SS' came with this color combo.

Looks good Plumber! I think I like the fawn & beige interior with the black better than the red & white interior. Good choice.

This reminds me of my first wife's 64 Chevy. We drove it while we were dating--nuthin more than 4 door transportation, but it had a bad hi-beam switch that would kill the whole electrical system, even the engine, when you hit the hi-beams ;) !! When you hit it again, everything came back on again  . Thanx for the memories

It's going to be standard 1961 issue, just like me!

Yeah, standard 1961 issues are the best ain't they?!

My wish is to see more '61's done in plastic (models of course-----I'd look terrible in plastic!) 1961 was a great year for GM as they were getting away from the fin madness, and yet still had the '50's look tied in with much cleaner lines!

IMO I think GM also had the best hardtop rooflines that year----------------you can spot a bubbletop a mile away!

Chris as usual, that's gonna be a real beauty!

Very nice build, and great color choice as well! ;) IMO, models usually look better and way more realistic in muted colors like this, rather than loud "come-and-look" finishes. I don't know why, but I guess it emphasizes the detail and craftsmanship in a well-built model instead of just having you staring at the paint. Whatever it is, it sure works great on this one. I love to find gems like this at the shows, you tend to not see them first so you walk by, then you stop and think: "Hey... What was that?" and walk back again to have a look. Keep up the good work!

BTW: Do all those decals come with the kit?

Very Nice Jeff, Here's my "Pre-Painted" version...

I started with the die cast kit (opening doors and trunk) , which came painted in these colors. I then detailed the already Red interior with White "accents", BMF, and added "Satco" blackwall tires, and "Modelhaus" 61/62 dog dish caps which were chrome plated.

I painted the inner trunk area a light gray, and then "spattered" it with black ...spatter? LOL

Painted the (chrome) outter wheel black, and left the "caps" chrome.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! Olle, the decals came with the kit, you get decals for the scripts on the body, (I painted mine) speedometer, guages, tach face, oil filter, valve covers, air cleaner, oil fill cap and a Delco decal for the battery. I used the Delco decal from the Revell '55 Chevy for the generator.
