The70judgeman
Might have to actually head up to EAA this year to see "DOC" & "FIFI" fly together. It'll be a sight to see.
Roadrunner
Always good to see a Superfortress. Just yesterday I was looking at a book I have on the B-29 and Russian (counterfeit) Tu-4.

The70judgeman
Have to agree with Richard. Heart-breaking end to all that hard work. If I'm not mistaken one of the guys that probably worked the hardest on that project died right before the end of all that work. So, a double loss on that one. Lunajammer
Have to agree with Richard. Heart-breaking end to all that hard work. If I'm not mistaken one of the guys that probably worked the hardest on that project died right before the end of all that work. So, a double loss on that one. The project itself may even have killed him, as he was so dedicated to the task of getting KeeBird flying that he neglected his own deteriorating health. All so that some maverick could get himself a B-29 on the cheap. Reckless and tragic. Wonderful to see another airworthy Super done right.
