Mike_G
Most of my early builds were done in a day- those actually look better.
ChrisBcritter
This one might be worth looking at just for the correct rear bucket interior. Steve See what you're gonna make me do? I have a '62 hardtop I built 40 years ago that I sawed off the roof and cut out a piece of Naugahyde to make a top boot. Fast forward to three weeks ago - just put in an order to Modelhaus for a bunch of stuff including a correct boot. Maybe I should fill the back with miniature beach blankets and picnic baskets to hide the seat...
1930fordpickup
Having given this some thought and thinking about what I did as a kid. All of the kits I built back in the day doubled as toys to play with . Built a garage out of shoe boxes and on and on. After a bit of time went on I had to change the cars that myself or my older brothers built for something to do. I was the youngest of the boys and had fewer kits to build but I had a bunch of rebuilders to change and glue more stuff on. If you had glue left in the tube you just had to use it. LOL I often wonder if this is why these kits are this way or they just started out that way.
Tom Geiger
After a bit of time went on I had to change the cars that myself or my older brothers built for something to do. I was the youngest of the boys and had fewer kits to build but I had a bunch of rebuilders to change and glue more stuff on. I had no brothers, but I lived in Germany and US model car kits were hard to come by. So my models got broken down for rebuild on a regular basis. Some of them had three coats of brush paint on them. I smile when I start to strip an old model and I find those layers!
Nova-ss
I never built models using all parts and or decals.the 1 model I ever built was when I was 4 and my friend and I taped it together. No paint..but fell in love with modeling.but never used all parts.always tried to built what I saw, instead of what was in my imagination. It is hard to rebuild these models, but its fun.there hard to find, the old AMT,Revell,MPC and Monogram kits from back in 50's thru 70's. ...love it thru.I like fixing these cars with everthing glued to it,funky paint and way, way, way to much glue.
